I appreciate your comments and concerns. However, this halter is no more brutal than a rope halter that leaves all the pressure behind the ears. In fact it takes the pressure away from behind the ears and stops the panic response. It is less cruel than a twitch. The horses you see on the videos are out of control and beastly to handle. This is what we asked for. Yes, they are lacking training time and all the horses you see in the videos are experiencing the halter for the first time. Horses that are trained to the halter do not act like this. If you have ever experienced a 1200 pound horse with a pulling back habit, you would appreciate the Sierra Horse Halter. That is what it was originally crafted for. It works to break this very dangerous habit. The Sierra Horse Halter did not make the horses in the videos act bad. It helps them to stop acting bad. You saw them finding out that they could not get their way by throwing around their weight, for the first time.

Good morning Paul & Gail~

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Numen. I know it's been a couple of years. Today is Thursday and this past Tuesday, February 7 I lost my beautiful mustang, Sundance, to the same thing. I am just devastated over this and can't believe that something like this could happen. My situation was the exact same... how I found him. We made the decision to put him down in his stall. My vet didn't think he would make the trip to a vet hospital. He was four. My mare will foal next month and I know that Sundance will live on through his offspring. He will be greatly missed. May we find comfort in knowing that they are in a better place.

By coincidence I found this site and watched the videos about this sierra halter and with every video I watched, I was more and more shocked... This is medieval, this is how horses in the "good" old days were litteraly saddle-broken. Nowadays thank heaven we know better tnx to Pat Parelli, Monty Roberts, Stacey Westfall and lots and lots of other horsefriendly and understanding trainers... Try their methods and use common sence and have more patience and the results will be much, much better with a cooperative and understanding horse instead of a submitting slave!
