Saddle Fitting

Fitting your Horse is Easy with a Kuda Leather Flex Tree Saddle; Fitting you is where the challenge comes in!

Fitting Your Horse: Because the Kuda Flex saddles have three gullet widths and soft bars, the gullet width is the main concern for your horse. The other may be the length of the saddle for very short backed horses. Unless you go past a 17" seat on a Premier, you should not have this problem either. Follow the link to find the gullet width for your horse. The following video shows horse anatomy & saddle fit criteria.

The following video shows the skeleton and muscles of the horse painted on. Very Educational.

Fitting You: In the last year, the Kuda Leather-Flex saddle has changed a little. The standard is now to have much more padding. What I have found is that the older saddles run a full inch smaller in the seat because of this padding. Many of my customers have been sitting in friends saddles (older models) and determining what size to buy for themselves. This sometimes leads to a "too tight" saddle, especially in the Flex Trail which has a very deep pocket and quick rise up to the pommel.

Because of the confusion, I am compiling a chart to help you decide what size you need for the Kuda Treeless Leather Flex Saddles (the newer version with extra padding). I need your help!! If you have a Kuda saddle, please contact me and let me know what brand of saddle you came from and what size it was, as well as what size of Kuda saddle you are now using and when you purchased it. This will help me compile my chart. And in turn help others determine the right size for their saddles. This is what I have so far.
